EXCELSIOR '08

Excelsior is a Latin word. It means ever higher. It is synonymous with excellent- good as gold in knowledge, performance, presentation, innovation, implementation etc. This precisely echoes the spirit of EXCELSIOR-08, here at University Institute of Engineering & Technology, the annual technical festival.

EXCELSIOR-08 is being organized at National level this year providing a platform to those with a technical bent of mind in order to showcase their talents.

The technical festival will be a three day event that will include competitive events, workshops, lecture series, paper presentations, quizzes and cultural nite. It is organized to provide a bulk of opportunities to the students to showcase their core technical skills, fundamental abilities and creativity in all the fields of engineering. It will be helpful in bringing out the technical knowledge of the students and put it to good use as well as enhance it through workshops, lectures etc. It will also provide them with the much needed break from their regular, hectic schedule and will induce them to do something different. Hence it will definitely provide a platform to excel…in academics, in their career, in their life and ultimately in the pursuit of their dreams.

UIET was established by Kurukshetra University in 2004 as a ‘centre of excellence’ to provide quality education in selected engineering disciplines at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. On the basis of academic strength and considerable expertise available in university departments, it was decided to start B.Tech. degree programme in the technically important disciplines of Biotechnology, Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. It was also decided to start M.Tech. degree programme in Microelectronics & VLSI Design and Software Engineering.

The University has constructed a separate building for UIET with all amenities and modern laboratories, workshop, library and classroom facilities. The existing facilities in the departments are also being used to provide teaching support. The University campus offers excellent environment for the overall personality development of the students .Within a short span of time UIET has earned a good reputation within the state of Haryana. High ranking student from different Engineering Entrance Exams are opting for different courses at UIET. With their hard work and able guidance of the faculty members at UIET these students are sure to become the world class Engineers and Technologists.
